A national chain became disappointed in the quality and consistency of the egg products it was receiving from a competitor – even though the eggs were technically “within specification.” With eggs representing one of its largest food purchases and having a major impact on the quality and appeal of its menu, the chain knew that “close” wasn’t good enough. It turned to the Sunny Fresh® product team for a better solution.
Our cross-functional team of Sales, R&D and Culinary professionals met with the customer to fully understand its needs, and demonstrate how our egg products provide more of the key attributes it was looking for. We also provided extensive testing and data that helped the customer create a tighter and more complete product specification. The result? This restaurant brand now has a superior-tasting egg that delivers more satisfaction!
Case Study 2: Unbeatable Product Satisfaction
One of our customers, a national restaurant chain, had used our folded egg squares as part of its breakfast sandwich. It decided to change the shape of its sandwich bun, which required us to alter the dimensions of our egg square as well. The new product was very well received, but the customer noticed that some of the new squares occasionally broke during shipping.
Our packaging specialists worked with the customer to redesign the cases and pack the product in a more stable way. We then tested the new packaging over several weeks of shipments to ensure it delivered consistent results over time. Now our client has a new, signature product that’s a hit with patrons while also avoiding costly waste – bringing more to its bottom line.
Case Study 3: Developing a Long-Term Partnership with a C-Store Chain
We have partnered with a prominent chain for several years, coming through for the customer again and again with new-product innovations to meet its growing breakfast menuing needs.
For the first project – an egg white patty that was part of a new breakfast sandwich – our New Product Development team worked closely with the client’s R&D group, continuously adjusting the formula to meet its exact specifications. The sandwich was a hit – going from LTO to a mainstay on the regular menu.
Later, the client turned to us for help with another sandwich opportunity. Our Pre-cooked Scrambled Eggs turned out to be the perfect solution for that application. And most recently, the client came to us looking for a higher-quality scrambled egg patty that was priced to meet its budget constraints. After extensive testing, we developed a product that fit perfectly into the customer’s menuing concept and operational environment – and we also offered risk management services that stabilized pricing.
